Marvin Ridge High School Marching Maverick Band The Marvin Ridge Band Program is among the finest to be found in the Southeast.  Emphasis of the program is on Proficiency, Reliability, Integrity, Discipline and Excellence (PRIDE).  Students who participate typically achieve greater success in their high school career – academically, because they are focused and learn time management, and socially, because of the camaraderie and sense of belonging they feel in being part of one of the largest Marvin Ridge organizations.  Each student feels worthwhile by learning that as an individual, he or she is important to the whole and that effort really does make a difference. The “Marching  Mavericks ” is the most visible and active band in the band program and is a voluntary ensemble.  The function of the group is to participate in local parades, school pep rallies, football games and adjudicated marching band festivals and competitions.  Membership in the marching band, while voluntary, is based on musicianship, marching ability and cooperation.  With the exception of auxiliary members, students must be enrolled in a music class to be a member of the marching band.  Students in Marching Band should expect after school rehearsals in the fall and other performances as scheduled.
